Railroad Avenue, MLK Drive closures expected Jan. 29-Feb. 2

AUBURN, Ala.- Railroad Avenue between Hemlock Drive and Byrd Street will be closed to through traffic this week, Jan. 29-Feb. 2, while a contractor installs a water main as part of the Martin Luther King Drive Streetscape project. The eastbound lane of Martin Luther King Drive between Byrd and Jones streets will also be closed.
Work is expected to take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. All residences along Railroad Avenue will remain accessible during the work.
Traffic control measures will be in place to help motorist navigate the detour. Drivers are advised to use caution in the area and to take alternate routes to avoid delays.
The City thanks the public for their patience as we improve infrastructure in the area.
